French Exchange: a week of culture, friendship and memories

On Sunday 8th April a group of 5th year French students and their teachers Ms. Laurent and Ms. O Connor headed for Amiens in France for a week long exchange where they attended school and embraced all that French culture has to offer.

Day 1

Áine Barry, Róisín Downey, Aoife O’Sullivan and Ms. O’Connor all taught classes on day one about Ireland, our culture and language. A visit was taken to the Cathedral in Amiens today also. Students attended their ‘Welcome Party’ in La Sainte Famille High School located north of Paris later that night.

Day 2

Day 3

Lunch and Physical Education for our 5th year exchange students in La Sainte Famille High School located north of Paris in Amiens France today.

Day 4

Early start this morning for the 5th year girls and their teachers on the French exchange beginning their journey to explore the sights and culture of Paris today – excitement on the intercity train. What a wonderful city! Journée parfaite.

Day 5

Our 5th Year exchange students exploring the immense history present in Albert, Northern France. World War 1 is a fascinating period of history. Here are some pictures taken in the trenches and the distance termed “no man’s land” where the Battle of the Somme took place.

Day 6

Final night in Amiens, France with our new friends – See you in Ireland in May – A bientôt les amies
