Annual Christmas Prayer Service & Enterprise Exhibition

On Friday 21st December our school held its Annual Christmas Prayer Service and Enterprise Exhibition in St. John’s Hall. Our school choir once again added to the festivities on a day of celebration and recognition of the hard work of our students.

The morning began with a short prayer service, followed by the enterprise awards for our school final. Light refreshments for all staff, family and friends in attendance finished off the morning.

On the day 11 First Year Enterprises were on display and 1 Second Year Enterprise. A total of 45 students took part in this years programme. On the day we presented two prizes in the First Year category and one prize in the Second Year category. These three groups will now go on to represent the school at the County Final of the Kerry Student Enterprise in IT Tralee in March. The two first year groups are as follows:
  • ‘Earyfix’ with their all in one ear piece that has a pen/pencil clip and a ear plug attachment for builders – Emma Keane, Katie Walshe, Ciara Cahill.
  • ’75 Degrees of Safety’ with their metal ladder shoes that place a ladder at the safest angle of 75 degrees – Lauren O’Connor, Aoife O’Leary, Sarah Mason, Blaitnaid Casey, Aine Murphy.
The second year group is:
  • ‘Crios Mhadra’ with the car safety harness for dogs – Kelly Anne Nix, Katelyn Curtin
Margaret Murphy from the Local Enterprise Office along with Lisa Henchy, Bank of Ireland Manager Castleisland and Kerry Senior Footballer Shane Enright were in attendance. The Bank of Ireland kindly sponsored all trophies on the day. The girls are hoping to retain their county title and go on to hopefully have a shot at retaining the All-Ireland title of last year, won by the ‘Complete Camán’ group.
