Presentation Secondary school Castleisland — Thu, 01 Oct 2026 21:02:08 +0000

Day three of our Malaga trip kicked off at the Museo Interactivo de la Música, where we got hands-on experience trying out a massive variety of instruments. Afterwards, we headed down to the beach to soak up the sun, go swimming, and enjoy plenty of fun in the waves. The evening began with a delicious group dinner, giving us all the energy we needed for a late-night shopping spree at Larios Shopping Centre. From music-making to ocean waves and retail therapy, it was an absolutely super day from start to finish!

Malaga – Day 2

Presentation Secondary school Castleisland — Wed, 30 Sep 2026 20:32:06 +0000

Today was truly unforgettable. We were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers of a local school, spending the day interacting and working on group projects in both Spanish and English. Cultural exchange was the highlight, as we shared our Gaelic football skills and taught them the Siege of Ennis. The Spanish students taught us the flamenco. Dinner in Malaga’s city centre kept our energy up for the evening’s fiery and intense flamenco show, capping off an amazing day.

Shona Project – Wellbeing & Mindset Workshops

Presentation Secondary school Castleisland — Mon, 28 Sep 2026 19:10:08 +0000

We are delighted to welcome the Shona Project team back to our school tomorrow! We are thrilled to be taking part in this wonderful programme again this year and look forward to nominating our new Junior Shona Ambassadors also know as Jambos from the school.

Tomorrow, the Shona Project team will be visiting the school to deliver Wellbeing and Mindset workshops to students across all year groups. These workshops will provide students with an opportunity to explore positive wellbeing, mindset and personal development in an engaging and meaningful way.

The workshop also ties in very well with the themes and topics currently being explored in SPHE, Religion and Guidance classes, providing students with an opportunity to build on and apply what they are learning in these subjects.

A reminder to parents/guardians to please make payment through the school app to allow your daughter to participate fully in the Shona Project workshop tomorrow.

We are really looking forward to welcoming the Shona Project team back and to another fantastic year of learning with them!

Congratulations to Leaving Certificate student and Student Council member, Grace McGovern, who was presented with an individual award at the Garda Youth Achievement Awards held in the Rose Hotel, Tralee, on Friday, 18th September.

Grace was recognised for her outstanding positive contribution to her community through her commitment to volunteering and supporting others. Her contributions include volunteering every Sunday at the Junior Parkrun in Tralee, promoting online safety through the Schools Webwise Panel, and volunteering to participate and help on the June Lourdes Pilgrimage with the Diocese of Kerry.

It is wonderful to see Grace’s dedication and willingness to give her time freely and generously being recognised in this way. She is a capable, responsible and compassionate young person who consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to helping others and contributing positively to her community.

Receiving the award in front of her very proud family made the occasion all the more special and it was certainly an achievement worth celebrating.

Congratulations, Grace. This Garda Youth Achievement Award is thoroughly deserved, and we are very proud of you!
