A Student Support Team (SST) is a group of school staff who work together to support the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students. Their main role is to identify students who may need extra support, whether due to academic challenges, personal issues, or mental health concerns, and to develop strategies to help them succeed. The Student Support Team at our school plays a vital role in ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed. Comprising of Principal Pierce Dargan, Vice Principal Padraig Kelliher, SEN Coordinator Veronica Dowd, Wellbeing Coordinator Mairéad Lane, and Guidance Teacher Edward Clarke, the team works collaboratively to address the diverse needs of students. They meet every two weeks to discuss any concerns and develop strategies to support students’ academic, emotional, and social well-being. Whether it’s offering guidance on learning challenges, promoting mental health and wellbeing, or providing career advice, the team is dedicated to helping students thrive in all aspects of their school life.
