TY Intellectual Property Workshop

January 16, 2026

This week, our Transition Year students participated in an engaging workshop on the importance of Intellectual Property (IP). The session highlighted how ideas, designs, inventions and creative work are protected through copyright, trademarks and patents, helping individuals and businesses to safeguard their innovation and effort. Students gained a clear understanding of why respecting intellectual property is essential in education, enterprise and the wider world, particularly in an age of digital media and rapid information sharing. The workshop encouraged students to think creatively while also recognising the value of originality, ethical practice and entrepreneurship, all of which are key skills for future study and employment.
