Following a very narrow defeat in the South West League Final last week against St. Brigids Killarney, our route to the All Ireland Series was made extra difficult. Though we still had a place in the last 16 of the All-Ireland, that loss meant we would be pitted against a top seeded team from another region. With that, we were drawn against the Cork champions Coláiste Choilm from Ballincollig.
Playing away from home against a higher seeded team did not phase our girls one bit however, and they put in their best performance of the year to date. Going from strength to strength throughout the game, this fantastic group of players eventually ran out 40-27 winners. There is no better feeling than heading back to the Kingdom with a victory over our neighbouring rivals. There were fantastic performances by a number of players on the day, including Katelyn Brosnan, Laura McShane and Erin O’ Connor.
The All Quarter Finals now awaits in Tallaght after the holidays. Pres Abú !
