Today, former Kerry footballer, Shane Enright, hosted financial wellbeing seminars for first, third and fifth year students in the school. This was part of Bank of Ireland’s Money Smarts programme in secondary schools. Shane spoke to students about his banking experience and the importance of developing a healthy attitude towards spending and saving, how to keep safe from fraud (particularly using online banking), the implications of borrowing and how to be a good consumer. This initiative is a lead into the student bank account programme available in the school over the next 2 weeks, where students have an opportunity to open a student bank account. Shane was also giving his predictions for Dublin Kerry this weekend!
