Well done to the 2nd year girls who washed some teachers’ cars with rain water from our recently installed water butts. ‘We wanted to raise awareness about the conservation of water and the spotless teachers’ cars are proof that rain water is just as effective as using a hose to wash one’s car,’ said Blaithín McElligott.
Washing a car with a hose uses between 400 and 480 litres of water, whereas the same activity, using a faithful bucket draws about 32 litres which is about 4 buckets of water per car!
