First Year visit to Kerry Museum, Tralee.

September 26, 2021

The first year students enjoyed being archaeologists for a few hours last Tuesday on a visit to Tralee town park. While excavating a mock Viking site, they uncovered many interesting artefacts and ecofacts like hatchets, spears, animal bones and even a human scull!
Later, a trek through the ‘Tom Crean exhibition’, revealed how he and his fellow polar explorers survived treacherous dangers and endured shocking hardships.
Another highlight was ‘the medieval experience’ where the students walked through the reconstructed medieval streets of Tralee which was founded in 1216.
Overall, it was a very educational and enjoyable trip for the girls who stepped into the past for an afternoon.
