This week, our Transition Year class welcomed Fiona Dunne of the Irish Restaurants Association to the school to complete an excellent Food and Beverage Hospitality and Skills course. The six hour course covered the following topics: customer service, restaurant sequence of service, allergens, table settings, how to take an order and how to serve different types and styles of food and drinks. The course took place in Presentation Hall set up in a mock restaurant. This course and qualification is recognised by the Irish Reataurants Association and will be a valuable asset on student CVs as Transition Year students seek and prepare for many different work placements in the coming weeks.
