This year for French week we featured the French speaking country of Switzerland.
Students learnt fun facts about this country throughout the week, the highlight being the
cross curricular activity of a chocolate fondue party with the Home Economics
department. Also in the culinary theme, students had some French toasties (Croque
Monsieur) with the famous Swiss cheese with the holes, Emmental!
Other French related activities during the week were poster competitions, a French
friendship bracelet lunchtime club, quiz questionnaires, French themed window graphic
design and creating a French playlist board. There was great engagement from students
across all years. Some teachers came on board also sharing personal tales of Swiss
connections to their families and choosing French themed dress-up costumes for the
annual Halloween party (Monsieur Inflation, René Descartes, Emily in Paris, La vie en Rose
and Monet
