Love In Action-Pancakes for Zambia

February 12, 2026

After midterm break, our school community will come together for a special Love in Action event: Pancakes for Zambia. This fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, February 25th during small break

Recently, Sister Mary Lucey visited our school and spoke about her inspiring work with communities in Zambia. Her visit gave us a meaningful insight into the challenges faced by the people she serves, as well as the hope and positive change that support from schools like ours can bring. Pancakes for Zambia is our opportunity to respond to her message — turning words into action.

Although we will miss Shrove Tuesday due to the midterm break, this event allows us to mark its meaning when we return. Shrove Tuesday traditionally prepares us for Lent, encouraging reflection, generosity, and spiritual growth. This fits perfectly with the learning currently taking place in our Religion classes. By hosting this fundraiser, we are helping students understand that Lent is not only about giving something up, but also about giving to others.

We are asking for everyone’s support so that we can raise vital funds for Sister Mary Lucey’s work in Zambia. Every pancake purchased will make a difference. Together, we can show kindness, gratitude, and compassion this Lent — truly putting love into action.
