We are delighted to introduce our Junior Ambassadors, also known as “Jambos”, for this school year. Our ambassadors are Transition Year students Alana Kelliher, Mairead Allman, and our international student Luna Stoek.
These students will represent our school as part of The Shona Project, a national initiative that supports the wellbeing, voice, and confidence of young people in schools across Ireland.
A Jambo (short for Junior Ambassador) is a student leader who helps to promote kindness, inclusion, resilience and positive mental health within their school community. Jambos act as role models and peer supporters, helping to create a culture where everyone feels seen, valued and safe.
Throughout the year, Alana, Mairead and Luna will:
Work with The Shona Project team to organise workshops and wellbeing events
Promote friendship, respect and empathy among students
Help create safe spaces for students to talk and check in with each other
Support anti-bullying and positive behaviour initiatives
Encourage student voice and leadership
Take part in training and leadership sessions
Represent our school at Shona Project events and ambassador meet-ups
Their role is about leading with kindness, building community spirit, and making sure no student feels alone or without support.
We are very proud of Alana, Mairead and Luna for being willing to take on this initiative. We know they will be fantastic ambassadors for our school this year. Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them the best of luck in their new roles!
