This Alcohol Awareness Education Programme involves your daughter learning the associated risks and protective factors involved in alcohol use. The content of this programme will be age appropriate to your daughter and approach alcohol awareness education, from interactive approaches such as discussions, group-work & games, to build self-esteem and self-worth. It also concentrates on developing the life skills such as communication, listening and decisions making skills that are needed to help young people to protect themselves from potentially harmful situations in their futures. This programme will be delivered during SPHE & Guidance classes over the course of the next month. Each student will receive their own learning booklet.
The course content includes:
· Exploring attitudes around alcohol use
· Information on social and health issues caused by problem alcohol use.
· Developing decision making skills.
· Building self-efficacy and resilience.
Your daughter will use the skills and knowledge learned during this programme to make informed choices about avoiding Alcohol use/ misuse.
