A huge congratulations to the students today who took part in the County Final of the Student Enterprise programme, held in the MTU. The standard at the competition was very high. It was a huge achievement to make it to the final in the first place, and all students excelled, with each group taking home a prize.
·First place in Intermediate Category: Aisha Pabon, Grace McGovern, Niamh O’Donnell and Aoibhinn Walsh (Modern Posture) won first prize in the Intermediate Category, with their portable, sustainable and lightweight mobile phone stands. They now go on to represent the school and Kerry at the National Final in May.
·Runner-Up Junior Category: FoldemGoals (Millie Hughes, Molly Moran and Frankie Maguire) won second place for their foldable and portable GAA and soccer goals.
·Best stand: Pen Locket (Nell Hartnett, Ella Greaney, Leah Griffin and Muireann Hickey) won the award for Best Stand at the competition, with their giant rubber, colouring pencils and overall display.
·Runner-Up Senior Category: Healthy Heat (Colene O’Callaghan, Jasmine O’Sullivan, Amber Foley, Blaíthín McBride and Emily Walsh) won second place for their innovative pet jacket providing heat therapy to animals.
A huge well done to all involved, including the many parents and teachers who supported with ideas, products development and costumes – the success would not have been possible without this. We wish Modern Posture all the best in the National Final.
