A huge congratulations to our 2 First Year groups today who took part in the County Final of the Student Enterprise programme, held in the MTU. The standard at the competition was very high. The First Years did themselves, their families and the school very proud, with excellent standards of presentations and displays. Both groups were deservedly awarded prizes.
·Liner Finder (Melissa Horgan and Sarah Walsh) won the overall prize of the day for the Best Marketing and Display Stand. Their library space with bean bag, book stand, giant bookmark and decorative table display led the judges to awarding them the prize, out of almost 25 businesses. Their display was a fantastic example of marketing and promotion. A great achievement, showcasing their eye for colour, design and art.
·Carry Camán (Seána Walsh, Lucy Matassa, Marguerite Herlihy and Clodagh Buckley) won overall first place in the Junior Category, for their design and production of hurley holders. The girls worked excellently together, kitted out in the local camogie club colours. They will now go on to represent the school and Kerry at the National Final in May.
A huge well done to all involved, including the many parents and teachers who supported with ideas, product development and costumes – the success would not have been possible without this. We wish Carry Camán all the best in the National Final.
