Developed by DCU Anti-Bullying Centre, FUSE is Ireland’s only research-based anti-bullying and online safety programme for primary and post-primary schools. Over the course of the next month, our junior cycle students from 1st to 3rd year, will participate in this fantastic programme. The lessons will take place in their guidance and SPHE classes. The goal of the programme is to connect everyone in the school community to work together to tackle bullying and promote online safety. FUSE consists of a suite of lessons and accompanying resources facilitated by teachers in a classroom setting. FUSE builds capacity among students to understand their own behaviour, be able to recognise bullying and online safety risks, and be confident in how to report and seek support when they need it. Third year students will receive certificates this year having completed all of the lessons since the start of first year. We look forward to revisiting the programme again this year.
