We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Kelly O Halloran to our school this week, where she delivered an inspiring talk on her creative journey and career in animation.
Kelly shared her artistic pathway from studying in Clonmel to establishing herself in the highly competitive world of animation. She spoke honestly about the dedication, resilience and creativity required to succeed, reminding students that passion combined with hard work can open incredible doors.
Now working with Kavaleer Productions, a forward-thinking and accomplished animation company based in Dublin, Kelly highlighted the exciting opportunities available within Ireland’s growing animation industry. She also discussed the flexibility of modern creative careers, explaining how she works remotely from home while collaborating on international projects.
Kelly has contributed to productions for major broadcasters and platforms including CBeebies, RTÉjr , Apple TV+ , and Nickelodeon – an achievement that truly captured the imagination of our students.
Her message was clear: Ireland offers world-class opportunities in animation and digital media, and creative careers are more accessible than ever for young people willing to pursue their talents. We sincerely thank Kelly for sharing her experience, insight and encouragement with our students.
This is part one of a Career Exploration module planned for TY students. We encourage students to really engage with each individual guest speaker and research careers in this area in advance. We look forward to welcome Briana Kelly of Amazon next week.
