Information Guide – Christmas House Exams 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The following are guidelines in relation to the upcoming Christmas House Exams 2020:

• Students who are absent for an exam will be marked ‘absent’ but will be given a copy of the exam paper after Christmas for revision purposes. Their last class test will be placed on the Christmas Report for that subject, along with a comment.

• Mobile phones are to be turned off and placed face down on each student’s desk for the duration of the examinations.

• Students will be handed out a physical exam paper for each exam they sit. The exam paper is for reading purposes only. Students must write ALL their answers on their own paper.

• If a teacher has requested, on the top of their exam paper, for a student to upload photos of their answers to Teams, then a student may turn on their phone and upload photos before they hand up their answer sheets. However, this must be done under the supervision of the teacher in the room. Students must raise their hand and ask for permission to do so.

• Students must hand up all answer sheets and the exam paper for each exam, regardless if they have upload photos or not.

• Students must write their name on all answer sheets handed up.

• It is recommended that students bring a stapler or paper clips to join all pages together before handing up.

• Once a student has handed up her answer sheets and exam paper, she may study.

• Access to eBooks during study periods is allowed.

• It is expected that students fully utilise the full duration of exams, as set out in the timetable.

• Each day of the exams is a full school day. If a student has no exam in the afternoon, they are expected to remain in their base room and study.

• Food is not allowed during exam times, but drinks are permitted.

• Full uniform must be worn. Jackets are allowed.

• Materials required:
o Books for study
o Pencil case with pens, pencils, ruler, eraser etc.
o Stapler or paper clips (recommended)
o Calculator & Mathematics set
o Formulae & tables book (where applicable)
o A4 Refill pad – every subject
o Manuscript Paper (music students)
o A4 Maths Copy Paper

• All Covid-19 guidelines and procedures are been followed in the preparation and delivery of the Christmas House Exams.

• Any queries in relation to the above, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Dargan through the school office.

Regards,
Mr. Dargan
