Mock/Pre Examinations 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am writing to you in relation to the Mock/Pre Leaving and Junior Certificate Examinations, which take place at the beginning of February 2021. This is a very important year in your daughter’s education. They give students the opportunity to experience real-life examination-style conditions and a sense of the physical, emotional and organisational demands of the examinations. It is hoped that all students have at this stage a study plan in place and an organised study space, as this will be very important in helping them to manage their workload and time over the coming weeks.

The exams are presented in similar format to the June examinations and are sent away to be marked independently. A detailed timetable will be given to each student in early January.

The cost of the examinations is individually calculated for each student, depending on the choice and number of subjects, along with the level taken in each. Your daughter will receive a Microsoft Form to complete digitally, in the coming days. The link to this form will be sent electronically via Teams. Please advise your daughter to take her time in completing this form. Students are required to select the subjects and the levels they plan to sit for their Pre examinations in February. If your daughter is unsure of her level, she can seek guidance from her teachers to discuss the best option for her. Please note that if your daughter is taking a subject outside of school, she should tick that subject on the form also, so that she can sit that exam as part of the Pre’s in February. Once all forms are submitted, I will meet each student to confirm their choice of subjects, levels and to double check the total amount owed for the Pre examinations fee.

Aware of the financial demands on families at this time, we have put in place two payment options in relation to paying the total fee. They are as follows:
• Payment in full via the school app
Or
• Four equal instalment payments, in cash to Mr.Dargan.

The deadline for payment of the total fee due, regardless of which option you choose is: Friday 15th January 2021.

***Please do not make any payment until I confirm with your daughter, her subjects, levels and the total fee. You will receive an app notification, to inform you when the examination fee can commence being paid***.
