On Friday last, our students remembered the six million Jewish people who died during the Holocaust. Our third year History class planted yellow crocuses to remember one and a half million Jewish children and thousands of other children who died in the Holocaust. The yellow colour of the flowers reminds us of the yellow star Jews were forced to wear under Nazi rule.
The flowers also remind us that, even after the most terrible events, new life begins again.
Raising awareness about the Holocaust is now more important than ever as the number of living survivors are dwindling. It is now up to us to tell their story!
