The sun shone brightly yesterday on our 1st and 2nd year girls, who competed in the North Munster Schools Cross-Country competition in Ennis. The girls showed great determination and will power, running very well in distances of 2,000m and 2,500m. They gave great support and encouragement to each other and were delighted to run well in their age categories, especially when some ran these long distances for the first time. Our second year student Mairead Walsh has now qualified for the Munster Cross-Country event in Cork on the 18th of February. Lauren Coffey and Laura McShane also placed high in their age categories. We wish Mairead the very best of luck next week. We are looking forward to more days out for cross-country events this year. Watch this space…
