Shield Champions for Pres Camogie Team

Today, 26 first and second year students headed to Mercy Mounthawk to compete in the Allcare Pharmacy Kerry Camogie Blitz.

This competitive blitz was for first and second year students from across the county along with Kanturk from Co. Cork.

Pres Castleisland entered two teams of 13, playing a seven a-side group stage competition all day.

Following the group stage, both of our teams qualified for the shield semi-finals.

This resulted in one of our teams progressing to the Shield Final versus Causeway Comprehensive.

The team put in a dominating display, resulting in a comprehensive win, that included 5 goals for Pres.

Captain Seana Walsh accepted the shield on behalf of the team.

This is the first piece of competitive silverware for the school in camogie in our history.

The future of the sport is in safe hands with this group of players and a bright and no doubt successful future lies ahead.
