Congratulations to Lauren Coffey, Edel O’Donoghue and Niamh O’Donnell who attended the Young Historian Awards Ceremony at the Kerry Museum recently. The girls were highly commended by judges, Jimmy Deenihan and Tony Bergin for their well researched essays on Currans Village, The Ballyseedy Massacre and Glanageenty woods. The ceremony highlighted the excellent local history essays written by students from Mercy Mounthawk, CBS, Tralee, Castleisland Community College, Scoil Phobail, Rathmore and Presentation Secondary School, Castleisland.
