Debating promotes critical thinking, teamwork, organisation and research skills.
Our annual in-house debate motion was: Celebrities and social influencers should be held accountable for promoting unrealistic beauty standards. Great speeches were delivered on both sides, full of excitement and anticipation.
It was adjudicated by four 6th year students.
The proposition, consisting of Nancy OConnor, Barbara Dolata, Aimee Kinahan- O Connor, Niamh O Donnell, Edel O Donoghue, Amelia Jarza and Caitlin Griffin won the debate.
