First year students of Home Economics created textile decorations for Christmas. The students were introduced to the principles of design and the principles sustainability. Each student created a miniature Christmas stocking using repurposed materials. They learned how to sew on buttons and how to do a range of embroidery stitches to embellish the fabric. In collaboration with the Religion department, students placed their Christmas wishes inside the stockings. The stockings are proudly displayed on the school Christmas tree. This craftwork represents the wide range of student work and the atmosphere of goodwill and excitement in the build up to Christmas.
