Last Wednesday, our Transition Year students took part in a problem solving competition, run by the Irish Mathematical Olympiad. This is an annual event which attracts second level students from all over Ireland. The problems require a good understanding of basic mathematical facts and the ability to think logically.
Students who attain the highest scores are invited to attend Mathematical Enrichment classes that are being offered at universities around the country.
